Runner In The Woods Hears Unusual Noises, He Then Saves Five Tiny Lives!

Running through the woods seems pretty normal and engaging thing to do, its great exercise also, but this couple never expected to encounter what they did that day in the woods…

Ashley Blake with her training partner set off on their country run in the forest and the trees through a woodland trail in Tennessee, it seemed like a pretty normal training session until they heard strange noises.

Before their day would come to an end they would find themselves saving a life, in fact, they would save five little lives that day!

The five cute and adorable little creatures they would save would really be grateful for the second chance before their lives had even really properly started!

Without their intervention, the five little puppies would not have stood a chance of survival on their own, about 6 miles into the 14-mile trek they would make through Frozen Head State Park, Blake and her friend Joshua Scott was stopped by a faint unusual sound just off the path.

Blake said:

“It was just a little rustling that caught us …It’s usual to hear forest critters, and that’s what we expected. We turned and saw this black pile.”

Scott and Blake went close to investigate and they then realized that the black pile was something unexpected!

Blake said:

“It was five puppies huddled together …It was close to freezing temperatures and they were trying to stay warm. As trail runners, you see a lot of wildlife, but never puppies.”

They straight away called the park staff for help, they comforted the sacred little puppies and huddled them to keep them warm and safe.

Blake said:

“They were terrified and crying …They settled down once they realized we weren’t going to harm them and we were warm.”

These little puppies had happened up to two real heroes, that was exactly what they needed, thank goodness that a higher power seemed to direct the people to find the little puppies so they could save them.

Then the ranger arrived to help, it was becoming apparent to them that the puppies were not likely to be there by mistake, not even by bad luck…

A quiet road passes through the woods, close to where the puppies were found, people tend to use that area to abandon pets, how sad, it’s so sad people do this, how could anyone do something so heartbreaking.

Blake said:

“They were dumped without food, water, blanket or mother …The park ranger said this isn’t the first time pups have been dumped at this spot.”

They carried the puppies, with the ranger, to his car, the little puppies were finally safe now all down to these lovely and wonderful two runners who stopped to investigate the strange noise they heard.

The runners carried on but the puppies stayed at the forefront of their thoughts as they continued running!

Blake said:

“We finished our run with renewed energy over the excitement of what had all just happened. A true animal rescue …I don’t doubt for a second they would have frozen that night or become prey for the wild critters.”

The rangers family kept the five little pups and looked after them at their house, the next day they would go to the local animal shelter to be looked after and eventually find homes.

Before that could happen the two runners visited the rangers hole to see the little dogs they saved, Scott then went on to adopt one of the puppies he rescued that day…

The other little puppies now need homes too, they are all looking for forever homes.

The last four puppies will soon be ready for adoption from their temporary home at Tennessee’s Oak Ridge Animal Shelter, we wish them all a lovely and happy life!

Blake says:

“We were in the right place at the right time.”
