Prince Harry and Meghan are hot news unless you have been hiding in a cave of course… Well, a little less known fact is how Meghan feels about dogs… before we get on to this, in case you don’t already know Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged to be married in spring 2018!
Crack open the champagne… but whats important here to us dog lovers, Meghan, and how does she feel about dogs? Well, she is a huge dog lover! Soon to be Duchess of Sussex she has two lovely rescue pets and they really are adorable!
These two adorable pooches, Guy and Bogart are getting ready to move in with Meghan and Harry in their Nottingham Cottage, situated on the Kensington Palace grounds, where the couple are living.
So it’s a bit of a journey for them, all the way over the pond and all, but one of them already made the trip to the UK and the other is coming over too, Meghan’s friend is caring for her pooch until ready to make the journey too!
Megan shares photos of the lovely Bogart and Guy, but even more impressive she hash-tags them #AdoptDontShop on her social media!
“Bath time. They’re over the moon. Can you tell? #adoptdontshop”
Bogart and Guy are going from their humble beginnings in the rescue center all the way to royalty, if that doesn’t inspire you to adopt-don’t-shop then nothing will….
It has been said that Meghan may not have adopted the pair if it were not for fellow animal lovers Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi, who happened to be in the rescue center as Meghan was and urged her to rescue them…
Well if you ask me, she was at the animal rescue center and we all have to start somewhere, so is it important that she had a little encouragement?
“It’s sort of like if Oprah tells you to do something. I’m sitting there holding him and she’s like ‘Have you thought of a name for him yet?’ And I said, ‘Well, I think I’d name him Bogart,’ and she’s like ‘You’re taking the dog home’”
Well done Meghan, we are all proud of you, and in your position let’s spread the word and inspire others, don’t you agree?
Meghan knows as well as we do that adopting is the best way to stop the ‘puppy factory supply chain’ and you’re not just saving a beautiful animal but you’re bringing hours of joy and happiness into your life too!
There are around 75 million strays living in the USA and only around 8 million cats and dogs come into shelters, all 3,500 of them, each year…
A staggering half of the pets that enter the shelters are euthanized because there is a lack of space and people to adopt them, that’s very approximately 3 million deaths every year, which is 1 in every two dogs and 7 in ten cats, lost!
Please do remember to neuter and spray your animals and help in the cause to reduce these numbers, encourage your friends and family to do the same, for the greater good….
Congratulations Harry and Meghan we hope your very happy and continue to Adopt even more needy animals and of course that we can see more of Bogart and Guy!
