Hospital allows dog to say good-bye to her human

Recently, a hospital allowed a dog named “Mollie,” to enter the building to say good-bye to her dying human.

The touching, albeit heartbreaking, visit was posted on social media on December 1, and subsequently shared by thousands of Facebook users.

The Facebook post, made by Michelle Jessen, explains:

The hospital did the sweetest thing for us and allowed us to bring my brother’s dog in to “say goodbye” so she’d know why her human never came home. If you knew my brother, he really loved his sweet dog.

The sad good-bye took place after 33-year-old Ryan Jessen was admitted to the hospital with a ventricular brain hemorrhage…according to Jessen’s sister, he though that he had a horrible migraine, not something which would prove to be fatal.

Michelle thanked those who have reached out with words of sympathy – she wrote, “We are sincerely touched and humbled by others’ stories, their sharing in our sadness and the kindness of so many people.”

Jessen has a word of assurance for those who are concerned about Mollie’s fate; she wrote, “Don’t worry about the dog! We’re keeping her!!! She’s part of the family.”

In his final days at a California hospital his best friend, Mollie, got to say goodbye and Ryan’s sister captured the bittersweet reunion on video and shared the clip on Facebook.

Though he passed away on November 30, his organs were donated; and the following day a 17-year-old from California, whose birthday is on Christmas day; received his heart.
