Dramatic body-cam video showing the moment officers rushed to save the life of a K9

Police have released dramatic bodycam footage showing the moment officers rushed to save the life of a dog injured in the line of duty.

Reno was chasing suspect Fernando Sanchez, 42, who is accused of driving a truck though the security gate of William J. Kinney Police Facility in Sacramento, California, on September 11.

Sanchez fought off Reno multiple times and the dog suffered two deep cuts to his abdomen. Blood can be seen on the road.

Officers rush over to Reno and give him medical attention as the suspect is apprehended. The K-9 is held down while one cop covers his wounds in bandages.

Reno is quickly placed in a car and driven to VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center.

He underwent surgery and is on his way to a full recovery. Sanchez was shot by police during the pursuit.

He was arrested on suspicion of robbery, attempted carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, evading, felony vandalism and malicious mischief.

Now he’s on his way to a full recovery
