Dog Found In A Birdcage Without A Bird In Sight!

The level some people go to in their lack of care for other beings really is astounding, we just can’t believe it, every single day, but what surprised us more than anything was this case here, where a pit bull was found in a bird-cage, put outside the Oakland Park Animal Rescue center…

Saving Sage Animal Rescue (SSAR), Gina Vlasek, said:“It was probably one of the most pathetic pictures that I’ve ever seen. She looked so sad. I have no idea how they even got her inside there because the door was so tiny”

The rescue organization SSAR really were great, they came to the rescue and helped the poor doggie after they heard the desperate situation she was in…

The people from the rescue center really were amazed that another person could do something like that to a doggie, they straight away took her out of that tiny birdcage she was stuck in.

The saddest part and also the even more worrying part too was that it was very clear that she had been bred many times before.

Used for breeding and just thrown away like a piece of trash, so shameful on them, how could another being be so cruel to an especially innocent animal that trusts us humans without question.

The poor pup had sores all over her skin, just a small touch to her skin made her bleed, it was incredibly bad. She was malnourished and extremely thin…

The rescue center called her Birdie, a fitting name considering how she was found, she got all the medical care she needed and at least now she was safe.

Slowly but surely the state of her skin improved and she started to heal and gain a little weight. Some of her sores were taking a little longer to heal so they returned again to the vet with her.

The rescue center said:

Our sweet girl Birdie saw the wonderful Doctor Friedbauer today at Royal Palm Veterinary Hospital. Birdie had a full workup which included exam, lab-work, skin-scrape, urine culture and allergy testing.”

“Birdie was found to have a UTI and she has allergies which are causing her skin condition. Poor girl is allergic to dust mites and water. Yes, water!! Imagine!”

Thankfully people were very generous and their donations really did help with her medical expenses…

The rescue also posted:

“Dr. Friedbauer has graciously sponsored Birdies allergy testing and allergy treatments and given us a HUGE break on the bill!”

“Thank you to everyone at Royal Palm VH for being so wonderful to our sweet girl and helping us to get her healthy.”

Birdie is now recovering with the love of a great family in a foster home, just what she needs to get back on her paws and really get to be healthy and happy again too.

Whoever adopts birdie will have an amazing and loving doggie!
