A stray dog, Shadow, living alone on the streets in the outskirts of Athens, Greece. She ate rotting corpses of livestock to survive and slept on a pile of trash.
One day, a volunteer from the Society For The Protection Of Stray Animals (SPAZ) was spotted stray dog Shadow walking amongst the garbage.
Shadow was extremely emaciated, very sick, and wasn’t friendly. They knew they had to get her out of that nightmare, but her rescue wouldn’t be an easy one.
She wouldn’t approach people, so rescuers sedated her; but even when sedated, she still tried to break free, threatening to bite people.
Once they finally got ahold of her, she spent a week at the clinic to be examined and treated.
A woman named Zaira took her in to foster her while she healed.
After two months of working with this stray dog, the once unapproachable stray was now friendly and house-trained. She is even great with other dogs and cats!
Not only has she healed on the outside, but she has healed on the inside as well. It’s amazing what a little TLC can do for someone.
She is now looking for her forever home. Watch the transformation and share:
